Welcome to Hidden Lake Resort Located on a quiet, wooded property just outside of Petersburg, Michigan, USA Less than a 30 min drive from Toledo, Ohio or Ann Arbor, Michigan and under 35 minutes from Detroit International airport (DTW). Leave a detailed trip itinerary with a trusted person of where you are going and when you will return. If you are planning to camp or day trip in the backcountry know the territorial park rules and regulations. Neither of the mines has been in operation since the 1940's. The second is on Thompson Lake, a difficult two hour hike in from the most northerly bay of Hidden Lake. The first is on the southeast side of the lake, a quick walk in from the shoreline. Above the falls, a bridge provides access by foot into Hidden Lake Park. Alternatively, the Cameron Falls Trail access route is a pleasant short hike well marked and maintained with easy to moderate route options through a forested trail to Cameron Falls. The Powder Point route is an unmaintained trail only suitable for experienced hikers, this route permits access by canoe via the east arm of Prelude Lake and includes a series of short portages before reaching Hidden Lake. The Park can be accessed from Powder Point and Cameron Falls Day Use areas located along the Ingraham Trail. Hidden Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes along the Ingraham Trail (Hwy 4), on a sunny day the lake appears aquamarine in colour, and fish can be spotted swimming in its crystal clear water. This park does not have any established facilities and can only be accessed by hiking and/or paddling, depending on the route. This is your trailhead.Hidden Lake Park is a natural 3000 hectare backcountry park. Take on the gravel road that climbs uphill behind the ski resort to a parking lot. There will be signs for Skoki Lodge here that can’t be missed. Continue on this road until you reach Fish Creek Road. Take the exit ramp for Lake Louise and merge right. From Banff, take the Trans-Canada Highway westbound for 57.0 km. ![]() To get to Hidden Lake, you will begin at the Fish Creek Trailhead behind the Lake Louise Ski Resort. Getting to the Hidden Lake Backpacking Trail Trailhead When camping at Hidden Lake, be sure to take the 2.3 km trail to Hidden Lake, as well as the 1.4 km trail up Boulder Pass to Ptarmigan Lake from the main trail. Skiers and hikers still frequent this supposedly haunted cabin on day trips. The historic cabin is called the Halfway Hut and served as a respite for those making the trek to Skoki Lodge in the past. Take the trail to the left, where there is a sign for Hidden Lake and you will find your camp within minutes. Continuing through the meadows, you will come to a junction at a historic cabin. Hikers will make their way up Fish Creek Road to Temple Ski Lodge before following Corral Creek towards Hidden Lake. This is also a great option for either Skoki Loop backpackers looking to get a head start in the late hours of the day or scramblers hoping to bag Mount Richardson, Pika Peak, and Ptarmigan Peak. ![]() Its short distance makes access a bit easier for many, yet rather than crawling through the forest, this trail is set in the subalpine and opens up nicely for views and changing scenery. ![]() This route is excellent for first-timers, families, and those who put smiles before miles.
